I'm really sad with my rating for this book, but I have to be honest I have mixed feelings about this novel. When I was about 5 years old, I used to watch The Condor Heroes a lot with my parents. When I missed an episode, my parents would tell me the story in detail; taught me the meaning behind each character's actions. This series, even though I have never read it until now, but I still have a little nostalgia in me. That said, it's been over 20 years and I honestly remember very little about it. What I do remember is that the final story was considerably larger in scope and complexity than the narrative of our times in A Hero Born. I will divide this review strictly into what worked and what didn't; let's start with the active parts first.
Legends are Born in March, Funny Shirts for Men, Birthday Gift Shirt, Husband Shirt, March Birthday Gift
A Hero Born has a compelling story, and although the prose and naming don't sit well with me (more on that in the next paragraph), I find that I'm always interested in reading on. Great action sequences, kung-fu descriptions are fun and refreshing to read. I also enjoyed reading the themes of friendship, loyalty, and love in this book. Remember, this is only the first book of a spin-off series that has turned into a much larger series, and for the first part, I think the plot in A Hero Born, although understandable, is rather cliché given it has Published for more than 50 years. In the past, the book has served its job as a setting for sequels wonderfully.
