For obvious reasons, this was a tough read. With that said, I thought it was well-written and didn’t want to put it down until I’d finished.

This is the second book that I have read about North Korea and it was equally disturbing! This particular story is about a young man who escapes from one of North Korea’s work camps. The story is about Shin, who was born in Camp 14. His being born in the camp is significant. Camp 14 is the only life he knew. If you think of those who were in the Nazi camps, they new what life was like before the camps. They had something to remember and hold on to. Also the Nazi camps only lasted a few years. The camps in North Korea have been going on for twelve times as long.
